• One reason that I don't drink is that;
I want to know, when I'm having a good time.
• Let the world know you as you are, not as you think you should be, because sooner or later, if you are posing, you will forget the pose, and then where are you?"
-- Fanny Brice (1891-1951), American entertainer
• Hardwork is like the stairs. Luck is like a lift.
Lift may fail sometimes, but whatever may be the Occassion, stairs will always get you to the top.
A man brought a racehorse and put him in a barn with a big sign, “The fastest horse in the world.” The owner didn’t exercise the horse nor train it in good shape. He entered the horse in a race and it came last. The owner quickly changed the sign to, “The fastest world for the horse.”
By inaction or not doing what should be done, people fail and they blame luck.
• Once when the great violinist Fritz Kreisler finished a concert, someone came up to the stage and said, “I’d give my life to play the way you do.”
Kreisler replied, “I did!”
• Three people were laying bricks. A passerby asked them what they were doing.
The first man replied, “Don’t you see I am making a living?”
The second one said, “Don’t you see I am laying bricks?”
The third one said, “I am building a beautiful monument.”
Here were three people doing the same thing who had totally different perspective on what they were doing. They had three different attitudes about their work. And would their attitude affect their performance?
The answer is clearly “YES.”
• "The greatest discovery of my generation is that man can alter his life simply by altering his attitude of mind."
-- James Truslow Adams (1878-1949), American historian, writer
• You can't change the past.
But you can ruin the present,
By worrying over the future
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these. - George Washington Carver
Expecting the world to treat you fairly
because you are a good person
is a little like expecting the bull not to attack you
because you are a vegetarian
"The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed."
-- Nelson Boswell
The trouble with so many of us is that we underestimate the power of simplicity. We have a tendency it seems to over complicate our lives and forget what's important and what's not. We tend to mistake movement for achievement. We tend to focus on activities instead of results. And as the pace of life continues to race along in the outside world, we forget that we have the power to control our lives regardless of what's going on outside. -Robert Stuberg

• Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible."
-- Claude T(homas) Bissell (b. 1916), Canadian writer, author
